What got you into pharmacy and what are your pharmacy interests? As cliché as it sounds, I always wanted to pursue a career in healthcare because I want to help people. When I was in college, I shadowed in a small independent pharmacy. I loved the relationship the pharmacists had with their patients, and decided to pursue a career in pharmacy! My family played a huge role in my decision to become a pharmacist. I was very close with my Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. They both had an assortment of health problems and had no education concerning their medications. My goal is to become the pharmacist that I wish they had. 6. What’s your favorite thing about KAPS? My favorite aspects of KAPS are all the amazing connections and relationships you can make with peers and established pharmacy professionals, the volunteer opportunities that allow you to give back to your community, the numerous opportunities that allow you to narrow down your future career path and discover your interests, the endless leadership opportunities, and so much more. I have never regretted my decision to join KAPS! 7. What are you planning for KAPS for the upcoming school year? I am excited to be back in person for the upcoming school year! We plan to have more social and in-person events, in addition to meetings and volunteer opportunities, to cultivate the sense of community that leads members to KAPS initially.
